Workshop Overview

This“GRC Capability Workshop – where performance in governance, risk management and compliance align for impact” The workshop will teach you how to efficiently design and enhance GRC activities within your organisation based on established standards and an internationally recognised framework. Learn how GRC is driven by more than just a software solution, and how it can become a strategic discipline. Better understand how GRC can become a continuous process that is embedded into the culture of an organisation.

What is GRC?

GRC is a term used to describe an integrated approach to activities related to governance, risk management and compliance. Increased corporate reporting and enhanced regulatory requirements have heightened corporate awareness about the value and importance of making sure these key activities are effectively designed, integrated and managed. Governs – Identification and management of relevant compliance tasks (obligations) Improves – Establishes a culture that allows owners to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, and responding to and improving operations through establishing an overall “Compliance Risks” based thinking.

  1. MANY ORGANISATIONS FIND THEMSELVES MANAGING THEIR GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE INITIATIVES IN SILOS –
EACH INITIATIVE MANAGED SEPARATELY EVEN IF REPORTING NEEDS OVERLAP.

    • Even though, each of these initiatives individually follow the governance, risk and compliance process,
mostly have transitioned into online systems with reporting and workflow. As a result, organisations have
ended up with dozens of systems and processes to manage individual governance, risk and compliance
initiatives, each operating in its own silo. So what is the solution, well you have to ask the right Question: “Why are these programs or systems
deployed in a very tactical manner, without a thought for a broader set of requirements?”
  2. TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY THROUGH PRACTICAL GROUP INTERACTION, DISCUSSIONS, AND TESTED EXERCISES, TO BREAKDOWN

GRC Capability Workshop Schedule
Learn schedule, program and topics of the GRC Capability Workshop 2021.

BY THE END OF THE WORKSHOP THE PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE DEEPENED THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT CONCEPTS AND IDENTIFIED WAYS IN WHICH THIS LEARNING CAN BE APPLIED TO THEIR WORK.

  • The Session will outline what a connected view of what operational Principled GRC looks like and how having it benefits the organisation.
  • Many things can disrupt the business. The measure of this disruption is GRC. Understanding the true scope, nature and impact
of GRC – GRACE (IT) to operations is more possible today than ever before.
  • While the individual needs of different functions are often best supported by use of separate technologies, it is essential to
harmonise and connect them, and the data they manage, to gain the holistic view of operational risk needed to support informed business decisions.
  • Break down silos between governance, strategy, performance management, risk management, compliance management,
    internal audit and other departments.

AS A GRC PROFESSIONAL, YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH OTHER ROLES BECAUSE...
